Job summary

Vitrum Glass Group in Langley, BC is hiring a Class 1 Driver to join our logistics team. You will maintain deliveries, perform pre-trip inspections, and ensure safety and accuracy for shipments crossing regional routes and the US border from our Langley facility.

The position offers steady hours, overtime when needed, a comprehensive benefits package (Medical, Dental, Drug), RRSP matching, and strong safety orientation to support high-performance operations.

Qualifications

  • Class 1 Driver's Licence is required.
  • Clean Drivers Abstract; B-train experience would be an asset.
  • Able to legally enter the United States of America, complete deliveries, and return to Canada by land border.
  • Crane truck operating experience preferred.
  • Drive manual / automatic transmission.
  • Ensure adherence to all safety policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Be willing to work overtime when required.
  • Must be able to work both independently and in a team setting.
  • Must be willing to be cross trained.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate records of pickups and deliveries, ensuring signatures and receipts are obtained to track shipments and verify deliveries.
  • Transport and deliver loads according to specified requirements and schedules, ensuring timely and safe delivery to designated locations.
  • Move and stage trailers as directed by the company, ensuring they are positioned efficiently and safely.
  • Conduct thorough pre- and post-trip inspections of trucks, documenting any findings accurately to ensure the vehicle is in optimal condition for operation.
  • Strap and unstrap trucks to secure loads safely, adhering to safety standards to prevent shifting or damage during transport.
  • Uphold all necessary certifications aligned with DOT, MOT, Health & Safety regulations, and company policies to ensure compliance and safe operations.
  • Operate cranes as required, adhering strictly to safety protocols to facilitate loading and unloading operations.
  • Maintain detailed records of delivery routes, logs, and incident reports to track movements and ensure accurate documentation of activities.
  • Verify product deliveries at customer locations, manage customer invoices, and provide exceptional customer service through direct communication, both in-person and over the phone.
  • Efficiently schedule and update delivery schedules to meet customer demands and optimize logistical operations.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by management, contributing to the overall operational efficiency and effectiveness.
