Job summary

BFL CANADA in Calgary is seeking a Claims Advisor to serve as a liaison between clients, adjusters, vendors and insurers, resolving incidents and settling claims on Real Estate accounts. The role requires a University degree or professional insurance designation, 5+ years of claims experience, and a valid license.

You will analyze coverage, provide technical guidance, and collaborate with the Client Management team to deliver fair outcomes while enjoying a hybrid work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Review new claims, gather facts, and contact the insurer.
  • Analyze claims and coverage to provide solutions.
  • Provide technical coverage guidance to clients.
  • Communicate progress with clients and management.
  • Maintain relationships with adjusters, insurers, and solicitors.
  • Negotiate payments with insurers on the client's behalf.
  • Liaise with Accounting to settle claims.
  • Mentor other team members.
  • Prepare claims reports and maintain files in LEO.

BFL CANADA is looking for a Claims Advisor in our Calgary office!

The purpose of this position is to serve as a liaison between the client, adjusters, vendors and insurers in resolving incidents and claims while performing various tasks related to the fair, equitable and timely settlement of incidents and claims on BFL CANADA Real Estate accounts and promoting BFL CANADA as the broker of choice.

Your day as a Claims Advisor
  • Upon notification of a new claim, reviews the relevant policy and gathers all necessary facts and information and contacts the insurer.
  • Conducts analysis of claims and coverage in order to provide effective solutions to coverage issues.
  • Provides technical expertise to clients regarding claims coverage.
  • Communicates effectively and professionally with the client and Client Management team regarding notification, progress and resolution of claims.
  • Builds and maintains excellent working relationships with adjusters and insurers and solicitors.
  • Negotiates payments and reimbursements with the insurers on the client's behalf.
  • Liaises with the Accounting department to ensure proper settlement of claims.
  • Provides assistance, mentorship and support to other members of the Claims team.
  • Participates in presentation to prospective clients and/or associations, as needed. Maintains current and accurate files and documentation for each claim in LEO.
  • Prepares claims reports as required.
