Job summary

Allstate Canada Group is seeking a Claim Advisor, Accident Benefits to join the Alberta team. The role handles complex first-party injury claims and reports to the Manager Casualty Claims AB.

Remote work is designated for this position with strong collaboration across a team of adjusters and assistants. Ideal candidates will have experience in Accident Benefits, Bodily Injury, and Property claims, with CIP or pursuit in view.

Qualifications

  • Experience within Accident Benefits, Bodily Injury, Property claims, Underwriting and Sales.
  • Completion of CIP designation or desire to pursue.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong critical thinking to identify strengths and weaknesses of a claim.
  • Strong written and verbal communication with client-focused service.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret policy wording, determine coverages and set reserves on Accident Benefit claims.
  • Investigate, negotiate and settle accident benefits claims by telephone, in person, or in writing.
  • Comply with Allstate policies and procedures.
  • Adhere to legislative and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure files are thoroughly documented.
  • Settle claims within personal authority and follow guidelines on higher claims.
  • Define customer service expectations and take ownership to resolve issues.
  • Communicate with claimants, vendors, medical professionals and lawyers professionally.
  • Collaborate with a team of Accident Benefit Adjusters and Claims Assistants.

Our team is growing, and we are actively looking to hire a Claim Advisor, Accident Benefits to join our Alberta team! Reporting to the Manager Casualty Claims AB, you will be accountable for handling complex first party injury claims.

Accountabilities:
  • Interpret insurance policy wording, determine policy coverages and set reserves on Accident Benefit claims assigned
  • Investigate, negotiate and settle accident benefits claims or moderate to high complexity by telephone, in person and/ or by written correspondence
  • Comply with best practices as set out in Allstate policies and procedures
  • Adhere to legislative and regulatory requirements
  • Ensure files are thoroughly documented
  • Settlement of claims within personal authority and follow company guidelines on claims exceeding personal authority
  • Set and define customer service expectations
  • Take ownership and accountability to solve customer problems
  • Communicate and interact with claimants, vendors, medical professionals, lawyers in a professional manner
  • Work collaboratively with a team of Accident Benefit Adjusters and Claims Assistants
Qualifications:
  • Experience within Accident Benefits, Bodily Injury, Property claims, Underwriting and Sales.
  • Completion of CIP designation or desire to pursue.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong critical thinking skills to identify strengths and weaknesses of claim
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a commitment to providing outstanding customer service
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team environment.

Compensation

Expected compensation for this role ranges from $ 59,900.00 - 93,725.00 annually. Actual salary offered to successful candidates will vary based on their skills and experience.
