Reporting to the Manager, Claims Services, you will:

  • Adjudicate claims for a suite of risk management programs by evaluating eligibility, verifying data, and applying program criteria.
  • Analyze historic and current farm and financial data (up to 5 years) to determine loss calculations, compensation amounts, and claim outcomes.
  • Communicate with clients (farmers) to clarify reported data, request supporting documentation, and explain decisions.
  • Participate in claims file reviews and collaborate with team leads, claims specialists, or legal advisors for escalated or complex files.
  • Provide technical guidance to clients on program parameters and documentation requirements.
  • Coach junior adjudicators and provide peer support across the team when appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate digital records and ensure claims are processed according to established timelines and quality standards.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying high-risk issues and recommending enhancements to adjudication practices.
  • Maintain positive, professional relationships with producers, brokers, and internal stakeholders.

Your background includes:

  • Post-secondary education in Agricultural Economics, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in claims adjudication, risk analysis, or financial services, ideally within the agricultural sector.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret and communicate complex data.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and comfort with case management or CRM systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to explain financial findings and program requirements clearly to clients.
