Job summary

Construction PCL Inc. in Montréal, Quebec is seeking a Civil Superintendent to lead on-site civil works, manage safety programs, and coordinate with clients, trades and project teams.

The role focuses on driving schedules, mitigating risks, and delivering projects that meet quality and budget targets. The ideal candidate brings a journeyman certification or related degree, 10+ years in civil supervision, and strong knowledge of safety and contract language.

Qualifications

• Journeyman certificate or related diploma/engineering degree.
• NCSO designation (IND) and Gold Seal certification required (CDN).
• 10 years of civil field supervision experience preferred.
• Deep knowledge of civil construction methods, materials and safety.
• Experience with scheduling, production monitoring and mentoring others.
• Ability to lead and manage multiple civil scopes.
• Strong understanding of contract language and risk mitigation.
• Knowledge of civil collective agreements for multi-trade sites.
• Safety and environmental compliance expertise.
• Ability to lead site meetings with client and trades.

Responsibilities

• Develops, implements and maintains the PCL safety program on site.
• Collaborates with project manager and team to resolve schedule challenges.
• Develops recovery plans and anticipates project issues.
• Communicates with forces and trades to ensure quality and safety.
• Liaises with client, other contractors and office staff.
• Supervises and mentors project team and field staff.
• Involved in staff onboarding and placement on site.
• Conveys vision of complex civil installations and drives critical path.
• Prepares civil work plans for inclusion in the Project Execution Plan.
• Ensures compliance with safety, quality and district policies.
