Job summary

Valard Construction is seeking a Civil Superintendent for our Infrastructure group, based in Port Hawkesbury, NS. You will lead heavy civil earthworks and site development on an electrical infrastructure project, directing crews and equipment to stay on schedule.

This field-based role may require travel and camp accommodations. Candidates should have 7+ years in civil supervision on large-scale earthworks, experience interpreting drawings, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• 7 years of civil superintendent or civil construction supervisor experience on large-scale heavy civil or earthworks projects.
• Experience supervising crews of 20+ people across earthworks, grading and underground utility installation.
• Ability to interpret engineered drawings and blueprints and translate to field execution.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Oversee civil operations through task delegation and productivity monitoring.
• Coordinate daily heavy civil construction activities to ensure safety and efficiency.
• Interpret drawings and designs to implement construction plans within project scope.
• Administer and enforce QA/QC across all civil work.
