Job summary

ML6 Search + Talent Advisory is seeking a Civil Structural Engineer to join a growing team in Sarnia, Ontario, working on brownfield industrial projects across petrochemical, refining, utilities, and nuclear sectors.

You will stamp drawings as a P.Eng., perform design and analysis, develop practical solutions, conduct site visits, and mentor designers, collaborating with fabrication and construction teams to deliver projects from concept through completion.

Qualifications

• P.Eng. designation required; able to stamp drawings and documents.
• Experience in civil/structural engineering within industrial environments.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Perform civil and structural design and analysis for industrial facilities.
• Develop practical, fit-for-purpose engineering solutions meeting codes and client needs.
• Conduct site visits, field assessments, and investigations as required.
• Support and mentor designers throughout the design process.
• Prepare and review structural calculations, design reports, technical specifications, construction work packages, and drawings.
• Review fabrication and construction drawings for accuracy and constructability.
• Collaborate with fabrication, construction, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure project success.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Perform civil and structural engineering design and analysis for industrial facilities.

What You'll Need to Be Successful:

• Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation with the ability to stamp engineering drawings and documents.
• Experience in civil and structural engineering within industrial environments.
• Bachelors degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
• Strong preference for experience supporting brownfield facilities in:
• Petrochemical
• Refining
• Oil & Gas
• Utilities
• Nuclear
• Chemical Processing
• Strong background in structural steel and reinforced concrete design.
• Brownfield plant experience is strongly preferred.
• Proficiency with RISA-3D.
• Experience preparing engineering calculations, reports, specifications, and construction packages.
• Experience reviewing fabrication and construction drawings.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across engineering, fabrication, and construction teams.
• Ability to perform site visits within active industrial facilities.

Compensation range- $80,000- $110,000
