Job summary

The City of Nanaimo is seeking a permanent full-time Municipal Services Inspector to inspect, monitor, and approve civil construction within its rights‑of‑way. You will work under the Project Manager in a CUPE unit, with a 40-hour work week and a wage schedule that starts around $44.03 per hour and rises to $46.35 after 60 days.

Requirements include a diploma in engineering, surveying, or construction, with 4+ years of related experience and ASTTBC membership or eligibility, plus a valid BC

Qualifications

• Diploma in engineering, surveying, or construction from a recognized institution.
• Minimum 4 years’ experience in survey, construction, design, and inspection of civil works.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, monitor, administer, and approve the construction of engineering projects, subdivisions, and building developments.
• Inspect private utility installations and other civil construction works within City of Nanaimo roads and rights-of-ways.
• Coordinate with project managers and other departments as required.
