Job summary

RAM Consulting is seeking a Civil Inspector II to support civil construction and utility infrastructure projects in British Columbia. This role will provide field inspection, quality assurance, reporting, and contract administration support while working closely with project engineers, contractors, operations personnel, and other project stakeholders.

The successful candidate must have previous civil construction inspection experience involving utilities or utility infrastructure, ideally within

Qualifications

• Experience in civil construction inspection involving utilities or utility infrastructure.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and contracts.
• Strong field documentation and reporting skills (daily reports, photos, as-built/red-line).
• Familiarity with QA/QC practices and materials testing (soils, asphalt, concrete).
• Valid BC driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites.

Responsibilities

• Perform field inspections of civil construction and utility works to ensure compliance with drawings, specs, and contracts.
• Monitor excavation, trenching, backfill, foundations, drainage, utility crossings, and restoration.
• Prepare daily inspection reports and maintain photographic/field records.
• Identify deficiencies and communicate findings to Project Engineer/Manager.
• Coordinate third-party testing and inspection activities; assist with as-built documentation.
