Job summary

Hall Constructors is seeking a dedicated Estimator to prepare and submit competitive civil bids, including earthworks, utilities, and roadworks. You will engage with the estimat­ing team, project managers, and subcontractors to develop first-principle estimates and robust proposals.

Responsibilities include takeoffs, subcontractor coordination, and bid submissions, with emphasis on accuracy, timeliness, and professional communication. Vancouver Island residents are preferred for this role.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of construction estimating experience, civil infrastructure focus
• Experience with earthworks, utilities, roadworks and concrete/civil works
• BC-specific knowledge and valid BC driver's license

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate estimates per Hall's procedures and bid requirements
• Review drawings, specs, addenda to identify scope, risks, and pricing
• Plan and manage estimates, takeoffs, and delegation to coordinators/interns
• Develop construction methodologies, crew requirements, and schedules
• Prepare subcontractor scopes, solicit quotations, evaluate pricing
• Coordinate with estimating, operations and project-management teams
• Attend site visits and bid-review meetings
• Communicate professionally with clients, subs, and suppliers
• Identify scope gaps and commercial risks and elevate issues to Chief Estimator
• Prepare bid forms, assumptions, exclusions, and submission documents
• Support final estimate reviews and handover of bids
• Maintain bid records and documentation
