Job summary

Select People Solutions is seeking a Civil Estimator to join our client’s team in Lethbridge. The successful candidate will deliver precise estimates for heavy civil projects, reviewing blueprints and specifications to prepare accurate quotes and takeoffs.

This role requires 3–5 years of heavy civil estimation experience, strong mathematics and communication skills, and proficiency with estimation software. A Class 5 license and reliable vehicle are preferred.

• Minimum 3–5 years of construction estimation experience, specifically in heavy civil construction.
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communicative abilities.
• Well-versed in estimation software.

Responsibilities

• Ensure precise preparation and delivery of final quotes and takeoffs.
• Perform detailed measurements and calculations for all elements of the project.
• Continuously monitor and update costs for all facets of the project.
• Sourcing, vetting and managing quotes from external trades/contractors and suppliers.
• Developing cost monitoring procedures and forecasting.
• Provide leadership towards strategic decision making, mediating between operations and management.
• Maintain effective client communication to identify their needs and ensure exceptional delivery of service.

The successful candidate will bring a strong attention to detail and a proven track record of delivering accurate, comprehensive estimates for complex projects. Serving as a key liaison between the company and its customers, they will develop detailed cost analyses that balance client requirements with project feasibility and profitability. From reviewing initial blueprints and specifications through bid submission and project handover, the Senior Estimator will play an integral role in ensuring competitive, precise proposals and successful project outcomes.

Compensation & Hours:

• The rate of pay will be $80-85K/year, depending on experience
• Monday through Friday, daytime hours
