Job summary

TYLin is seeking a Civil Engineering Co-op/Intern for a 4-month term starting in January, based in Toronto, Ontario. You will support proposals, schedule planning and design activities for highways, roads and intersections, and assist with transportation studies and land development projects.

Ideal candidates are currently enrolled in a bachelor's program in civil/environmental engineering with knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil3D or ArcGIS.

Responsibilities

• Assist with proposals and project schedules
• Assist with feasibility studies, functional plans, and design for highways, roads, and intersections
• Assist with transportation studies, traffic operations, and site impact analyses
• Perform calculations for municipal infrastructure design (roads, sewers, watermains) in land development
• Prepare grading and servicing plans for land development
• Prepare sanitary and storm design sheets
• Prepare erosion and sedimentation control plans
• Assist in preparing contract specs and tender packages (quantity take-offs, cost estimates)
• Assist in obtaining permits and approvals to proceed with construction
• Review plot plans for houses
• Provide progress status reports regularly
