Job summary

Associated Engineering in Calgary is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to lead municipal infrastructure projects, including water transmission, stormwater drainage, and sanitary sewer systems. The role emphasizes design and construction oversight with a strong client development component.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of civil engineering experience, a P.Eng with APEGA eligibility, and proficiency with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, and water-management software.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in civil engineering from an accredited university.
• Registered, or eligible for registration, as a Professional Engineer with APEGA within six months of hire.
• 5+ years of civil engineering experience with an emphasis on water, sanitary and stormwater utilities and earthworks.
• Experience in designing large diameter water transmission pipes and civil site servicing for water transmission facilities is an asset.
• Experience with City of Calgary and Alberta requirements is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise and project coordination while demonstrating resourcefulness and adaptability.
• Hands-on involvement in preparing proposals and advancing projects through design and construction phases.
• Involved in managing and developing new clients.
• Lead cross-functional teams to deliver project objectives from concept to design to construction.
• Act as Engineer of Record for designs, reports, cost estimates, specs and construction documents.
• Execute tenders, constructability assessments, contract administration, and inspection of municipal infrastructure projects.
• Act as Prime Contractor to ensure field work meets HSE requirements.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients, suppliers, and stakeholders for business development.
• Perform QA/QC reviews for project deliverables and liaise with the Project Manager on scope/schedule/budgets.
• Support proposal submissions with key content such as project understanding, methodology, team organization and fees.
