Job Summary

We are seeking a Civil Engineer/Engineer in Training to join our City Solutions team in the Greater Toronto Area.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the preparation of proposals and project schedules.
  • Prepare feasibility studies, functional and stormwater management reports, and preliminary/detailed designs for private and municipal infrastructure in support of land development projects.
  • Perform calculations and analysis using engineering formulas for the design of private and municipal infrastructure in support of land development projects.
  • Prepare sanitary and storm design sheets and water demand calculations.
  • Prepare full sets of civil engineering drawings, such as grading, servicing, plans and profiles, erosion & sedimentation control plans, and others, in support of land development projects.
  • Assist in preparing contract specifications and tender packages.
  • Prepare quantity take-offs and cost estimates.
  • Assist in applying for and obtaining the necessary permits and approvals to proceed with construction.
  • Review plot plans for houses.
  • Assist with and provide progress status reports on a regular basis, as well as when required.
  • Other assignments as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
  • EIT or CET designation.
  • Relevant internship or related work experience preferred.
  • Knowledgeable in AutoCAD.
  • Familiarity with Civil 3D, MicroStation, and/or ArcGIS is an asset.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with a proven ability to efficiently prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of producing clear documentation and interacting professionally with clients and colleagues.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, while also being able to effectively collaborate in a team environment.
  • Strong commitment to innovation by creating new and better ways to solve clients’ toughest challenges.
  • High levels of integrity, always doing the right thing in an ethical, fair, and sustainable way.
Additional Information

TYLin is committed to pay equity. As part of that commitment, we have provided the base compensation range of $68,000 - $85,000 annually for this position and local market. We recognize that each candidate brings a unique set of skills, experience, education and competencies to the table that will be reflected in our offer.
