EXP provides flexibility for employees to work in any of our offices in GTA with the option to work remotely on the other days.

What a day at EXP has in store for you

1. Demonstrate expertise in civil design, start to finish, with attention to detail across various sectors, including Industrial, Commercial, and Institutional Site Development, as well as Residential and Commercial Subdivisions. This, taking full responsibility for every detail of civil grading drainage and servicing design within proper drawing setups.
2. Prepare comprehensive civil design drawing packages accurately and proficiently, ensuring adherence to agency specifications, company standards, and client requirements. Stay informed on review agency requirements, including those from municipalities, regions, conservation authorities, and the NEC.
3. Mentor and coordinate drafting and design efforts for junior staff, while facilitating collaboration and communication of design information with designers, project managers, CAD staff, and other team members. Clear understanding of project Scope with clarity when work evolves to out of scope requiring additional fees.
4. Ensure timely and high-quality production of civil design drawings, start to finish, meeting established project timelines and standards. Fully responsible for design and production.
5. Strong critical thinking abilities, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and providing alternative solutions to challenges for successful project resolution.
6. Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D, with expertise in creating plan & profile drawings, sections, grading, corridor design, surface modeling, and pipe network design. Develop models for water, stormwater, and wastewater piping systems, as well as municipal roadway designs, from initial concept through final implementation.
7. Pond design execution in accordance with Stormwater Management (SWM) design criteria.
8. Sewer design sheet preparation and coordinating with modeling, analysis, and design teams to ensure consistency across reports and technical deliverables.
9. Generation of material quantities, cost estimates, tender documents, and specifications, with a desire to expand knowledge in this area.
10. Prepare conflict-free design with understanding of utility parameters through clash detection, ensuring effective utility coordination.
11. Work on platforms like ProjectWise and ACC, enhancing project management and collaboration.

What your experience looks like

1. Bachelor's Degree or C.E.T. with a minimum of 7-10+ years of experience in Civil Land Development, Site Civil, or Utility Design.
2. Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D is a mandatory requirement.
3. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced team environment, managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
4. Strong communication and report-writing skills, with the ability to prioritize and meet tight deadlines across multiple projects.
5. Skilled in earthworks calculations and cost analysis.
6. Understanding of various constraints (environmental, design, etc.) and the ability to assess the impact and provide mitigation measures and make design decisions for these factors.
7. Familiarity with the layout and design of Stormwater Management Systems.
8. Experience in applying municipality and agency-specific design specifications and criteria, and the ability to apply these requirements to projects.
9. Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy in all aspects of civil drainage and servicing design.
10. CADD Drafting assessment to be completed online.
11. Autodesk Certified Professional in Civil 3D is preferred, or the ability to achieve certification within the first 3 months.
