Job Description

We are looking for an Intermediate Civil Engineer to join our Resource Infrastructure Group in our Vancouver Office. The team you will be joining is involved in a variety of projects ranging from access planning studies, roadway/highway design, pedestrian & trail bridges, resource bridges, site inspections, condition assessments, contract administration and much more.
The core requirements of this role are strong technical skills related to transportation infrastructure including options development, planning, design, tendering and contract administration. Other capabilities that would be a valuable contribution to the team include general experience related to low volume road & resource bridges and culvert design. You will have hands-on involvement leading and preparing studies, designs, cost estimates, specifications and contract documents. You will also be participating in business development and preparation of proposals. This position brings with it the potential for excellent career growth as you will be involved in a wide range of projects. Travel will be required at times based on project requirements.

Additional Requirements

1. Acting as Project Engineer and/or Project Manager
2. Preparing written technical reports including but not limited to feasibility studies, options studies and design reports.
3. Preparing civil designs using Civil 3D.
4. Preparing technical specifications, contract documents and construction drawings.
5. Overseeing and coordinating work for Civil Technologists
6. Providing support to technicians and designers to ensure deliverables are accurately prepared.
7. Performing construction administration/inspection.
8. Performing project management tasks including communications with clients, managing schedules, budgets, and reporting requirements.
9. Coordinating sub-consultants on projects.
10. Coordinating with other disciplines on larger projects.
11. Executing projects in accordance with company guidelines and standards.
12. Participating in marketing strategies and business development with clients to procure business through writing proposals.

Job Requirements

What you will bring:

1. Undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited post-secondary institution.
2. Registered or Eligible for registration with EGBC as a Professional Engineer.
3. 5+ years of civil design experience in the transportation sector including design and construction of roads, highways, bridges and culverts
4. Experience and proficiency in Civil 3D and AutoCAD.
5. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
6. Proven technical skills.
7. Comfortable working on a variety of project types in a variety of disciplines and sectors across Western Canada and the north. Northern experience is a beneficial asset.
8. Strong communication and organization skills.
9. Committed team player.
10. Track record in managing clients and developing client relationships.

The salary range for this position is $85,280.00 to $120,640.00 and is commensurate with experience relative to this position.
