Job summary

Stantec in Canada is seeking a Civil Engineer-in-Training to join our Community Development team. You will support design and field work on land development, municipal, and transportation projects under a senior engineer's guidance.

You will assist with grading, roadways, utilities, stormwater, and erosion control, perform calculations, drafting, cost estimating, and coordinate with clients and consultants while growing toward professional registration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum of 3 years of Civil Engineering experience.
• Registered Engineer-in-Training with EGBC.

Responsibilities

• Perform civil design using knowledge of relevant software programs.
• Work with other engineering and non-engineering disciplines and professionals under the direction of a senior engineer/designer or project manager.
• Perform field work as directed by a senior engineer/supervisor.
• Perform calculations to analyze and design civil system components using company standard software and proprietary manufacturer software.
• Assist with engineering duties on projects of various complexity.
• Assist with collecting data and gathering information to support design decisions.
• Assist in interpretation and verifying compliance with applicable codes and engineering standards and practices.
• Perform a variety of tasks to analyze proposed project solutions for design integrity, reliability, and cost effectiveness.
• Contribute in project coordination meetings with internal teams and external consultants, clients, and stakeholders.
• Perform other duties as assigned by senior engineering staff.
