Job summary

Geosam Capital in Laval, QC is seeking a Structural Civil Engineer to join a multidisciplinary team and lead design, analysis and execution of structural projects for buildings and infrastructure.

You will act as a technical expert for colleagues and clients, contribute to mentoring peers, and advance through project and team leadership while delivering compliant, high-quality work in French and English where needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required.
• Member in good standing of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ).
• 5–10 years of relevant experience in structural design (buildings and/or infrastructure).
• Proficiency in analysis and design software.
• Advanced level of spoken and written French; English an asset.

Responsibilities

• Design and analyze reinforced concrete, steel, and wood structures, according to applicable codes and standards.
• Produce structural calculations, plans, and specifications.
• Conduct inspections, assessments of existing structures, and site surveys.
• Monitor site operations: review shop drawings, respond to inquiries, and conduct compliance visits.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers from other disciplines, and contractors.
• Coordinate projects and advise clients.
• Mentor and support junior engineers and technicians.
