Responsibilities
- Perform technical tasks in civil engineering, including determining design criteria, preparing engineering calculations and technical design, material and cost estimates, drawing layouts and construction details.
- Conduct design studies, attend existing facilities for data collection and assessments, attend construction sites for field inspection reviews, direct and review site surveys, and compose reports.
- Project types are civil engineering for industrial, commercial, manufacturing, and utilities build pads / foundations.
- Surface elements include site development, lot grading, and parking.
- Underground utilities include domestic water, stormwater, and wastewater.
- Calculations include stormwater management, hydraulic analysis, and traffic management.
- Drafting performed in AutoCAD-2D, Autodesk Civil-3D, and Revit.
- General software includes Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Qualifications
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
- Registered Professional Engineer with ‘Engineers and Geoscientists of Ontario’ would be a huge asset.
- Minimum 10+ years of civil engineering experience.
- Experience and proficiency in engineering to Canadian and Municipal codes and standards.
- Strong professional standards, with proficiency in civil theory and practice.
- Organizational skills, with effective communication and coordination with the team.
- Proficient communication in oral English, written presentation, and technical sketching.
- Multi-tasking with the ability to work to schedules and budgets.
- Able to travel to client sites for data collection and construction review.
