We are seeking an Infrastructure Engineer II to serve as a pivotal contributor within our Managed Security Service Provider (MSSP). In this role, you will be responsible for proactively identifying, prioritizing, and remediating security vulnerabilities across our technology stack, including on-premise systems, cloud environments, network devices, VMware, and firewalls. You will collaborate with security analysts, IT operations, development teams, and third-party vendors to develop and implement mitigation strategies. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of security best practices, risk assessment, patch management, and proficiency with vulnerability management tools. Your expertise will be crucial in safeguarding our systems and data against cyber threats.

Responsibilities

  • Apply security patches, configuration changes, and hardening measures to servers, network devices, and applications per security guidelines.
  • Execute remediation tasks with precision, minimizing disruption.
  • Test and verify the success of remediation efforts, document activities clearly and comprehensively.
  • Collaborate with the security team to provide updates and address challenges during remediation.
  • Implement detailed remediation plans provided by the security team.

Salary Range : $110,000-$150,000

Required Skills

  • Deep understanding of the vulnerability management lifecycle : identification, assessment, prioritization, remediation, validation.
  • Experience with on-premise systems, cloud environments, network devices, VMware, firewalls.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and with teams.
  • Proactive mindset and commitment to continuous learning in a rapidly evolving threat landscape.
  • Support for system-related issues, escalating complex problems appropriately.
  • Meticulous attention to detail for identifying vulnerabilities and ensuring thorough remediation.

Desired Skills

  • Experience with vulnerability remediation on Dell switches, Palo Alto Firewalls, Cohesity, VMware, Microsoft Servers, Linux servers.
  • Certifications such as A+, Security+, Network+, CCNA, or CCNA Security.
  • Excellent communication skills for conveying complex technical information to diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience with scripting and automation tools like Python, PowerShell, Ansible.
