  • Carrying out civil design tasks using Autodesk Civil 3D to help create vibrant communities in Calgary and surrounding regions.

  • Translating high-level conceptual designs into fully constructed projects, from preliminary phases through to project completion.
  • Supporting engineering personnel in the field with design, drawing production, and/or construction specifications.
  • Working in a highly collaborative environment, alongside our team of engineering, planning, and drafting specialists.
  • Ensuring quality control of your design production work and the work of others in the group.
  • Performing a variety of defined assignments with independent judgment and reviewing and advising on technical challenges.
  • Assisting with coordination of project timelines and ensuring deadlines are met.

About You

Our ideal candidate will be a graduate of an Engineering Design and Drafting, Civil Engineering Technology, or equivalent program with 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in civil design, including subdivision site grading, road design, and deep underground design. Preference will be given to candidates with civil infrastructure-related experience in the land development, stormwater management, or local government project realms.

The core skills that will help you succeed here include:

  • You have a high level of proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Autodesk Infraworks.
  • You have excellent drafting skills and knowledge of drawing set-up and production.
  • You are proficient with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office software.
  • You have a keen eye for detail and take great pride in your work, in projects both large and small.
  • You communicate effectively with others to ensure clear and efficient collaboration with team members
  • You are committed to ongoing personal and professional development.
  • You are registered or eligible for registration with ASET or an equivalent Provincial association.
  • You have a valid Class 5 Driver’s License or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with Geographic Information Systems and with setting up and using BIM360 would be considered an asset.
