Job summary

Binnie is seeking a Design Engineer to join our Infrastructure Victoria Division in Victoria. You will work with project managers, designers, and engineers on municipal infrastructure projects including water, roads, and utilities, contributing to design through construction drawings.

The role requires 4–6+ years in municipal engineering design, a Civil Engineering degree, and P.Eng registration with EGBC. Strong design, communication, and time-management skills are essential; construction

• Minimum 4–6+ years of municipal engineering design experience.
• Experience with municipal projects (infrastructure, roads, utilities) preferred.
• Land development experience beneficial.
• Experience acting as an EOR preferred.
• Construction experience preferred.
• Civil Engineering degree completed.
• Registration as a P.Eng with EGBC required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare civil engineering design work from conceptual level to detailed construction drawings.
• Prepare and review design calculations per current standards.
• Act as project EOR, signing and sealing drawings, reports, calculations and technical documentation.
• Maintain design files with calculations and documentation.
• Prepare design reports, letters and memorandums.
• Perform on-site inspection duties.
• Provide input to Project Managers in fee proposals.
• Undertake quality control procedures and monitor design standards.

Binnie is looking for a Design Engineer to join our growing Infrastructure Victoria Division, which delivers infrastructure planning, design and construction services for linear infrastructure (water, storm, sanitary), streets and transportation assignments.

This is a full-time position in our Victoria office, you will be working with our friendly and supportive team of experienced Project Managers, Designers, and Engineers on a wide range of capital municipal projects. YOUR ROLE:

• Preparing civil engineering design work, from the conceptual level through to detailed construction drawings
• Preparing and reviewing design calculations in accordance with current standards
• Acting as a project EOR, signing and sealing drawings, reports, calculations and technical documentation
• Maintaining design files with necessary calculations and documentation
• Preparing design reports, letters and technical memorandums
• Performing on-site inspection duties
• Providing input to Project Managers in the preparation of fee proposals
• Undertaking quality control procedures and monitoring design standards on completed work
• Directing staff involved with the design process

WHAT YOU BRING:

• A minimum of 4- 6+ years of related experience in municipal engineering design
• Previous experience working with municipal projects (infrastructure, roads, utilities etc) preferred
• Previous experience working with land development will be a bonus
• Experience acting as an EOR preferred
• Construction experience preferred
• Completed Degree in Civil Engineering
• Registration as a P.Eng with EGBC
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and personal vehicle preferred
• Strong design, communication and time management skills and ability to work concurrently on several different projects
• Excellent attention to detail to consistently produce accurate, high-quality work

The salary for this position is commensurate with experience; the salary range for this position is $96,140 - $138,300 annually. The final salary for this role may vary based on several factors, including relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
