The City of Iqaluit invites applications for the City Planner position to guide sustainable growth, land use planning, and development within the northern municipality. Reporting to the Director of Planning and Development, you will review planning applications, conduct policy analysis, engage with the public, and help ensure bylaws and plans reflect community priorities.
Experience with GIS, AutoCAD, and MS Office, plus strong communication, will support collaborative work across departments
The City Planner plays a key role in guiding responsible community growth, land use planning, and development within the City of Iqaluit.

Reporting to the Director of Planning and Development, this position supports the review and administration of planning applications, conducts research and policy analysis, engages with the public and stakeholders, and helps ensure development aligns with municipal plans, bylaws, and community priorities.

Hourly Rate: $51.71 per hour. Hours of Work: 40 hours per week. Settlement Allowance: $20,907.44 per year. Status: Full-Time Permanent. Union Status: Union.
Membership with the Canadian Institute of Planners (CIP) and/or APPI, or eligibility for membership, is preferred.
Indigenous language skills are an asset.
Applicants whose education and experience provide an equivalent combination of knowledge and skills may be considered.
