Site Description: City of Brampton's Rapid Response provides a uniform security presence at various locations including Rose Theatre, City Hall, Civic Centre, and other Downtown Brampton facilities, properties, assets, and events.
Position: Full-Time Rapid Response Security Guard
Site: City of Brampton, 150 Central Park Drive, Brampton, ON L6V0A3
Hours: Continental Rotation, 1900-0700hrs
Payrate: $18.50/hr
Averaging Agreement: Overtime is under Averaging Agreement (AA) after 88 hours

Schedule Example:
- Week 1 - Nights - Mon-Tues, Fri-Sat
- Week 2 - Nights - Sun, Wed-Thurs
- Week 3 - Nights - Mon-Tues, Fri-Sat
- Week 4 - Nights - Sun, Wed-Thurs
Key Responsibilities:
- Respond to and report incidents of criminal activity, suspicious activity, and hazards
- Unlocking and locking doors and offices
- Providing access control and a visible security presence
- Deterring prohibited acts such as loitering, panhandling, smoking, skateboarding, and cycling
- Securing buildings after hours
- Completing patrols using electronic guard tour systems
- Work independently or as part of a team
- Conduct proactive patrols, address policy breaches, and note facility concerns
- Write detailed incident reports
- Respond to alarms and emergencies professionally
- Monitor and control entry and exit of personnel and visitors
- De-escalate crises, support, and liaise with emergency services
- Contribute to team efforts
- Log key, radio, and pager audits
- Handle Lost & Found items and inquiries
- Report unsafe conditions
- Provide first aid and medical response when needed
- Respond to various incidents and patrol interior and exterior areas
Prerequisites:
- Valid Ontario Security License
- Valid First Aid & CPR - Level C
- Covid Vaccine (two doses)
- Valid G class Driver License and clean driving record
- Fluent in English (oral and written)
- Experience in security or law enforcement preferred
- Certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB), or willingness to complete training
- Legal authorization to work in Canada
