Job summary

Aerotek is seeking a motivated Construction Skilled Labourer or Carpenter Apprentice for a church construction project in Abbotsford, BC. This contract-to-hire role runs November through December with potential extension based on performance and project needs.

The position requires 2+ years on a commercial site, comfort with hand and power tools, and a strong commitment to safety. On-site work from 7:00 AM to 3:15 PM, Monday to Friday, with competitive pay.

Qualifications

• 2+ years construction experience on a commercial site.
• Experience using hand and power tools.
• Ability to perform physically demanding outdoor work.
• Reliable transportation to project site.
• Commitment to workplace safety and PPE.
• Fall protection and MEWP tickets held.

Responsibilities

• Perform general skilled labour duties on a commercial construction site.
• Assist with concrete chipping and repair prep.
• Site cleanup and housekeeping.
• Move and reposition guardrails and site protection.
• Pressure washing, patching, grouting, and minor painting.
• Shovel dirt, debris, and materials.
• Install temporary protection including plywood and insulation coverings.
• Assist with formwork stripping and carpentry support.
• Work safely from boom lifts when required.
• Support activities related to steel erection and tilt‑up construction.
• Operate hand and power tools safely and effectively.
• Follow safety procedures and site policies.
• Collaborate with supervisors, trades, and subcontractors.
