Job summary

Avana is hiring Skilled Construction Labourers for residential projects across our communities. This hands-on role performs on-site manual labour and supports day-to-day operations on worksites. Preference given to those in First Year Carpenter Apprenticeship or with related training.

Candidates must be physically capable, have a valid Class 5 driver's licence, and provide own hand tools and CSA-approved boots. On-site schedule applies Monday–Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic carpentry tools and techniques.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and work outdoors in all weather.
• Able to work independently and in a team.
• Strong time management and prioritization.
• Criminal record check required; eligible to work in Canada.

Responsibilities

• Clean job sites of construction materials and refuse at various stages of the builds.
• Tidy and clean houses under construction at various stages.
• Construct and place temporary sidewalks.
• Construct and install temporary handrails and stairs as requested.
• Install appliances.
• Install lock sets.
• Deliver materials on an as-needed basis with a truck or trailer.
• General maintenance on existing properties as needed.
• Drywall checkout.
• Support the Carpenters with additional tasks as needed.
• Other duties as directed by the Construction Lead or Site Superintendent.
