Job summary

The Salvation Army in Canada is seeking a temporary, full-time Christmas Toy Shop Worker to support Community and Family Services during the holiday season. You will help set up and manage toy distribution, supervise volunteers, process donations, and maintain accurate records.

As a faith- and values-based organization, we hire and serve people of all backgrounds and walks of life - there is a place for everyone to belong here.**Mission Statement** The Salvation Army exists to share the love of Jesus Christ, meet human needs and be a transforming influence in the communities of our world.**Job Description:****Position Purpose summary:**The Christmas Toy Shop Worker provides support to the Community and Family Services during the Christmas season on a temporary basis.**Accountabilities:*** Assist with the set-up, take-down and organization of toy distribution program.* Assist with the scheduling and organization of volunteers.* Provide supervision to volunteers in toy sorting area* Receive and process donations of toys for distribution and provide assistance with packing and sorting toy donations.* Assist with recording statistical data in a clear, organized, and accurate manner.* Receive and process telephone calls from clients requiring assistance.* Assist with setting up and clean-up of volunteer refreshment areas* Assist with registration as required* Ensure replenishing of toys in Toy Store* Perform other related duties as required.**WORKING CONDITIONS:*** This is a temporary, full-time position.* Shifts may include days, afternoons, evenings, weekend shifts, and split shifts, Monday through Saturday. Applicable shifts include a 1⁄2 hour unpaid meal break.* Flexibility in scheduling is required, as the hours may increase as per operational requirements.* Working environment is typically in the office in generally agreeable conditions.* Ability to lift/move up to 20 lbs.
