Job summary

The Salvation Army in Canada is seeking a Kettle Campaign Coordinator III for a short-term contract to lead multiple Christmas campaigns. Job Description

POSITION PURPOSE SUMMARY: The Salvation Army Christmas Kettle Campaign is part of a century old tradition to contribute towards building strong communities by helping TSA to give hope to other. Kettle Coordinator III position is a short-term contract position. The incumbent is responsible for oversight of various Salvation Army Christmas campaigns as well as the coordination of all staff and volunteers. This position may be assigned to provide coordination for one or multiple campaigns such as Christmas Kettle Campaign, Christmas Hampers, Santa Shuffle, and Toy Drives campaigns.

Accountabilities

The incumbent may perform all, some, or similar range of duties.

  • Attend a day of training/orientation on The Salvation Army and the Christmas Kettle Campaign
  • Provide support, direction and supervision of Christmas Campaign support staff
  • Manage the collection of confidential information pertaining to clients and/or sponsors ensuring updated records are maintained in the database
  • Work with clients and sponsors to ensure the appropriate level of need is being addressed through the requirements of the campaign
  • In partnership with other campaign coordinators, liaise as required with the city, community agencies and businesses for promotional purposes
  • Provide volunteer and worker training as required
  • Prepare, coordinate and distribute correspondence as required to clients and/or sponsors
  • Provide updated campaign information through statistical reporting requirements
  • Solicit a variety of donations and/or sponsorship commitment in support of the assigned Christmas campaign
  • Ensure the secure and safe keeping of all donated goods throughout the season
  • Oversee the collection, sorting and distribution of items such as toys and hampers
  • Coordinate the delivery and pick-up of donations as required
  • Provide oversight and attend special events and activities
  • Submit final campaign reports outlining highlights and recommendations for future campaign coordination

Perform other work-related duties as assigned.

  • Guide and direct campaign support workers and volunteers as necessary.
  • May participate in the recruitment of workers and volunteers.
Financial And Material Management
  • Responsible for the solicitation and secure, safe keeping of donated goods.
  • This position is involved in minor financial matters regularly or on a relief basis and has the responsibility for the wise use of resources.
  • May be authorized to spend, disburse, or collect small amounts of cash.
  • This position has very little input in annual budget or revenue projections.

  • Work environment is typically in office, malls/stores, warehouse
  • Some standing periods will be required and exposure to cold weather

Education, Experience And Qualifications
  • Willingness to develop an understanding and support for the mission and purpose of The Salvation Army in Canada and its implications as related to position responsibilities.
  • Work in compliance with OH&S Act and Regulations and abide by The Salvation Army's health and safety policies and procedures.

Alternative combination of education and Experience may be considered.

Education, Qualifications And Certifications
  • Completion of high school
  • Completion of Voluntary Sector Management, Business Administration, Public Relations or HR programs an asset.
Experience
  • Two years of related experience or working in customer service
  • Money handling experience is an asset
  • Volunteer coordination experience is an asset
  • Previous supervisory/management experience an assetWorking understanding of budgets and financial record keeping
  • Knowledge of available community resources is considered an asset

Compensation

The target hiring range for this position is $20.09 to $25.11 with a maximum of $30.13.

Placement in the salary range will be based on factors such as market conditions, internal equity, and candidate experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the role.
