Job summary

Thrive Psychotherapy London is a warm, collaborative practice in London, Ontario. We are seeking a part-time Child Therapist to provide individual therapy to children aged 5-16 and to support families as needed.

The role is a part-time, independent contractor position in London, ON, with the option to work from home. Evening and weekend availability is required, and the role can grow into full-time as caseload develops.

Qualifications

• Hold an MSW, MA or equivalent graduate-level clinical degree.
• Formal training and registration as a psychotherapist, social worker, psychologist, or equivalent mental health professional, with eligibility to practice in Ontario (CRPO/OCSWSSW).
• Demonstrated experience providing psychotherapy or counseling to children and adolescents, including assessment, treatment planning, and delivery of evidence-informed interventions.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual therapy to children aged 5-16.
• Support parents, caregivers, and families as appropriate.
• Maintain clinical documentation in a timely and ethical manner.

Thrive Psychotherapy London is a warm, collaborative, and supportive psychotherapy practice in London, Ontario. We provide compassionate, relational, and trauma-informed care to children, youth, adults, couples, and families.

Role Description

The Child Therapist is a part-time, independent contractor role based in London, ON, with the opportunity to perform some work from home. The registered child therapist (RP or RSW) will provide individual therapy to children and youth aged 5-16 years with additional support to parents, caregivers, and families as appropriate. Evening and/or weekend availability is required. The part time role has the ability to grow into full-time.

Qualifications

• Hold an MSW, MA or equivalent graduate-level clinical degree
• Formal training and registration as a psychotherapist, social worker, psychologist, or equivalent mental health professional, with eligibility to practice in Ontario (e.g., CRPO, OCSWSSW).
• Demonstrated experience providing psychotherapy or counseling to children and adolescents, including assessment, treatment planning, and delivery of evidence-informed interventions.
• Strong skills in building rapport with young clients and families, using age-appropriate, trauma-informed, and culturally sensitive approaches.
• Comfort with maintaining clear, timely clinical documentation and adhering to professional, legal, and ethical standards of practice.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Proficiency with telehealth platforms and basic digital tools to support hybrid service delivery and remote work.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development, reflective practice, and fostering an inclusive, non-judgmental therapeutic environment.
• Experience with play therapy, CBT, DBT-informed approaches, or other child-focused modalities is an asset.
• Experience and/or excitement to build a caseload while receiving marketing support and referrals from the clinic

Compensation:

Compensation will be structured as an independent contractor fee split, based on clinical experience, qualifications, and caseload.
