Job summary

Deep-Water Intake Group, une coentreprise du groupe VINCI, recherche un Chef Géomètre/topographe pour superviser l’équipe de relevés et garantir la collecte et la qualité des données de monitoring sur un projet civil majeur au Canada, près d’une installation nucléaire.

Vous dirigerez les équipes tunnel et surface, assurant la précision des mesures, le respect des procédures et la sécurité, tout en développant les compétences des collaborateurs et en collaborant avec les équipes client et JV.

Qualifications

• Diplôme en Géomatique, Génie civil, Géomatique ou domaine connexe.
• 10 années d'expérience en levés de construction, dans des ouvrages lourds.
• Connaissance approfondie du monitoring de tunnels SCL et expérience en gestion d'une grande équipe sur plusieurs sites.
• Expérience des systèmes de surveillance géodétiques et géotechniques; bonne connaissance des outils modernes de levé et d'échange de données.
• Excellentes compétences en communication et travail en équipe dans des environnements multiculturels.
• Approche proactive orientée terrain avec de fortes capacités de résolution de problèmes.
• Une expérience dans des environnements nucléaires est un atout.

Responsibilities

• Gestion des équipes de surveillance dans le tunnel, LU/LO et surface.
• Responsable de l'acquisition précise des données.
• Collecte des données de surveillance pour revue quotidienne.
• Programmation des données du logiciel de guidage du tunnel.
• Assurer la liaison avec JV SCL Engineering et le client sur les rapports.
• Former les membres juniors de l'équipe.
• Participer aux réunions SRG et transmettre les retours.
• Gérer les ressources et le matériel.
• Organiser des ressources de relevés supplémentaires si nécessaire.
• Démontrer un engagement envers la sécurité.
• Contribuer à l'amélioration continue.
• Assurer la conformité environnementale.

Deep-Water Intake Group, a joint venture of multiple subsidiaries of the VINCI Group, construction worldwide leader, specialized in the design and construction of major civil engineering and building works in Canada is hiring an Chief Surveyor.

What is the project?

The Pickering Nuclear Generating Station Refurbishment Program Involves Designing And Building a New Deep-water Intake In Lake Ontario To Improve The Plant's Cooling System. This Will Involve

• A5 km-long tunnel, built by a pressurized TBM (10.5 m diameter slurry TBM);
• Two vertical shafts (onshore and offshore);
• An offshore modular intake structure, resting on the lake bed.

The project is distinguished by its proximity to an active nuclear site, requiring rigorous standards of safety, planning and coordination.

What You Will Do

The Chief Surveyor is accountable for overseeing and managing the surveying team in the collection of monitoring data. Establishing the manual monitoring and supervising the daily survey activities.

Concretely, Your Tasks Will Be

• Management of the in tunnel, LU/LO and surface monitoring teams;
• Accountable for the accurate acquisition of data;
• Collection of all monitoring data in time for daily review;
• Accountable for the data programming of the tunnel guidance software;
• Liaise with JV SCL Engineering team and the Client in relation to daily monitoring reports for the sites and deal with any associated queries;
• Develop junior members of staff within the team;
• Attend daily SRG (Shift Review Group) meeting if required and feed back to team as necessary;
• Manage resources and equipment available to team for monitoring activities;
• Organise additional survey resource if and when required to cover additional works instructed by the Client;
• Demonstrate a personal commitment to safety;
• Participate towards continuous improvement;
• Ensure environmental compliance;
• Contribution to the sustainability agenda.

Profil

Your Skills

• Degree in Geomatics, Civil Engineering, Surveying, or a related field.
• 10 years of experience in construction surveying, in heavy civil works ideally with tunnel or underground projects.
• Extensive knowledge of SCL tunnel monitoring, construction & surveying Previous strong experience in managing a large team across split locations
• Experience of monitoring systems geodetic & geotechnical Very good knowledge of computer systems and modern survey equipment with data transmission.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work in multidisciplinary and multicultural project environments.
• A proactive, field‑oriented mindset with strong problem‑solving capabilities.
• Experience working in nuclear‑regulated environments is an asset.
