A prominent engineering firm in Canada is seeking a Mid-Senior level Project Manager for the refurbishment program at Pickering Nuclear Generating Station. This role involves managing project schedules, budgets, and risk assessments for large tunnel projects. Responsibilities

• Structure all schedules, budgets, and reports according to the Works Breakdown Structure.
• Establish the project schedule in a multi-layer scheduling model.
• Submit Oncore job set form or Ecosys version in conjunction with the Work Breakdown Structure.
• Establish project risk profile and Proposed Risk Management Plan.
• Establish the project risk profile, identify discrete risks and opportunities with probability/impact assessments.
• Develop and implement the Proposed Risk Management Plan in line with client processes.

Project Overview

Pickering Nuclear Generating Station refurbishment program involves designing and building a new deep-water intake in Lake Ontario to improve the plant's cooling system. This will involve:

• A 1.5 km-long tunnel, built by a pressurized TBM (10.15 m diameter slurry TBM);
• Two vertical shafts (onshore and offshore);
• An offshore modular intake structure, resting on the lake bed.

Responsibilities

Work Breakdown Structure:

• Structure all schedules, budgets, progress updates, request for payments and accrual reports according to the Works Breakdown Structure.

Schedule Management:

• Establish the project schedule in a multi-layer scheduling model that meets the requirements of the client (milestones, scope categories, control accounts, work packages and activities)
• Define resources at level 3 and 2 for all contract types.
• Provide native scheduling files when requested.

Cost Management:

• Submit Oncore job set form or Ecosys version in conjunction with the Work Breakdown Structure dictionary.

Risk:

• Establish project risk profile, including the identification of discrete risk including opportunities with overall detailed assessment of probability and impacts.
• Establish Proposed Risk Management Plan.
• Ensure alignment with the client project risk management manual and processes.

Qualifications

• 15 years’ experience with at least 5 years of project controls.
• Experience in a lead role on complex projects, ideally large tunnel projects throughout the project lifecycle.
• Knowledge of the risk management of tunnel works.
• CRM certification (asset).
• Experience in marine works (asset).
