Job summary

CancerCare Manitoba invites applications for the role of Vice President, Research, a senior leader embedded in CCMB and the Paul Albrechtsen Research Institute. The VP will shape the research strategy, oversee operations, budgets, platforms, and partnerships with the University of Manitoba, Shared Health Manitoba, and donors to advance cancer research and care.

The successful candidate will drive translational and clinical research, mentor scientists and staff, and ensure research priorities

Qualifications

• MD, PhD and/or MD/PhD in a relevant field, with eligibility for an academic appointment at the University of Manitoba’s Rady Faculty of Health Sciences.
• A strong record of scientific achievement and credibility as a clinician-scientist, researcher, basic scientist, population health researcher, health services researcher or related cancer research leader.
• Senior leadership experience in a research institute, academic health sciences centre, comprehensive cancer centre.

Responsibilities

• Lead CCMB's research strategy and planning to align with the Roadmap to Cancer Control for Manitoba.
• Provide executive leadership over research operations, budgets, platforms and partnerships.
• Mentor researchers and ensure collaboration with university, health authorities and donors.

Education

MD, PhD or MD/PhD in a relevant field
