Job summary

STARS is a critical care helicopter service operating across bases in Alberta. As Chief Pilot you will lead flight operations, uphold the highest safety standards, and mentor crews to deliver life‑saving missions 24/7.

This full‑time management role requires TC approvals, PIC qualifications, and a proven track record in EMS or rotor‑wing operations, with a strong focus on training, SOPs, and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Canadian ATPL(H) and Group 4 Instrument Rating.
• Qualified as PIC on Airbus H145 or eligible through STARS training.
• TC approval as Chief Pilot per CASS 723.07.
• Experience leading pilot training programs.
• Strong leadership and communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Maintain professional standards among flight crew.
• Develop, implement, and maintain SOPs.
• Oversee all required training programs for flight crew.
• Issue operational directives and notices as required.
• Review, process, and action crew reports; provide supervision and mentorship.
• Additional responsibilities as delegated by the VP Aviation (Operations Manager).
