Job summary

Waterloo Regional Health Network (WRHN) seeks a Vice President, Medical & Academic Affairs to lead medical and academic affairs across multiple sites. This executive role reports to the EVP, Medical & Chief of Staff and shapes clinical education, patient safety, and technology-enabled care.

The VP-MAA will drive medical leadership, physician engagement, education, research, and innovation while collaborating with regional partners and academic institutions.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and advice on medical affairs, clinical operations, healthcare policy, and emerging health system priorities.
• Provide executive leadership and direction to medical leaders, fostering collaboration, accountability, engagement, and clinical excellence.
• Partner with EVP and MAC to strengthen alignment between medical, clinical, and administrative leadership.
• Strengthen communication between Program Medical Directors, Program Directors, and Senior Leadership Team to address priorities.
• Represent WRHN with regional and provincial partners, academic institutions, professional organizations, and stakeholders.
• Provide reports and presentations to the Board of Directors as required.
