Banque Nationale du Canada is seeking a Chief Fullstack Developer to lead development in the Business Process Strategy and Evolution team. You’ll design, build, and deploy solutions across AWS, DevOps, and modern frameworks, collaborating with partners to transform our technology landscape.

The role emphasizes hybrid work flexibility, ongoing training, mentoring, and opportunities to influence technology strategy within a client-focused banking environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or higher with required years experience, or Master’s with seniority.
• Knowledge of object-oriented design patterns.
• Proven Java 21 experience; Angular 17, Node.js and Spring Boot.
• Experience with PostgreSQL, MariaDB, MySQL, MSSQL databases.
• Experience in software design, development, CI/CD and automated deployment.
• DevOps tools: Git, Bitbucket, Docker, Kubernetes, GitHub Actions, Argo CD, Cucumber, SonarQube.
• AWS cloud, especially Lambda and Step Functions; Python, PHP, HTML, XML, JSON assets.
• Capital markets knowledge is a plus.

• Develop innovative, creative, robust, and efficient solutions to process and enrich valuation treatments related to sometimes complex products and activities within financial markets.
• Interact with different sectors of the Bank and managers to interpret information and offer professional support as an analyst.
• Be responsible for quality assurance and smooth implementation of solutions developed under your responsibility.
• Provide support to our partners in their operational activities.
• Identify complex operational issues through information analysis and resolve them by making recommendations within general parameters.
• Stay up-to-date with new developments in your field.
• Bring improvement ideas to the solution delivery processes.

Prerequisites:

• Hold a university certificate or bachelor’s degree and 7 years of experience , or a master’s degree and 5 years of experience .
• Knowledge of object-oriented design patterns.
• Demonstrated experience programming with Java 21 and frameworks such as Angular 17, Node.js, and Spring Boot .
• Demonstrated experience with databases including PostgreSQL, MariaDB, MySQL, and MSSQL .
• Demonstrated experience in software design and development, continuous integration and continuous deployment ( CI/CD ), and automated software deployment.
• Knowledge and experience with DevOps tools and technologies such as Git, Bitbucket, Docker, Kubernetes, GitHub Actions, Argo CD, Cucumber, and SonarQube .
• Knowledge and demonstrated experience with AWS cloud services, particularly AWS Lambda and AWS Step Functions .
• Experience with AWS Lambda and AWS Step Functions is preferred ; knowledge of Python, PHP, HTML, XML, and JSON is also an asset.
• Knowledge of capital markets is an asset.

Languages:

Reason to require this language: you will need to work closely with our colleagues outside Quebec.
