Role Summary
As the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), you will be at the forefront of shaping the company’s financial strategy and ensuring its long-term financial stability. In this critical role, you will oversee all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and risk management. You will report directly to the CEO and collaborate closely with the executive team to develop and execute a financial strategy that aligns with the company’s objectives, balancing profitability with operational efficiency. Your ability to provide insightful financial analysis and forecasts will be crucial in driving informed decision-making and maximizing financial performance.
A significant focus of your role will be to enhance the annual budgeting process, ensuring that capital expenditures, operating costs, and revenue projections align with Morin Supply's goals. You will monitor financial performance against budgets throughout the year, identifying areas for cost savings and revenue enhancement while recommending necessary adjustments. Additionally, you will oversee the preparation of accurate financial statements, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and transparency in financial reporting. Your leadership will also extend to cash flow and capital management, where you will ensure liquidity and effective working capital management to support the company’s operational and strategic priorities.
Furthermore, you will be responsible for identifying and mitigating financial risks, ensuring compliance with tax laws and internal controls to minimize exposure. Your role will involve fostering strong relationships with external auditors, regulatory bodies, and stakeholders to maintain transparency and accountability in all financial matters. By leading and mentoring the finance team, you will drive a culture of high performance, collaboration and operational excellence, ensuring that the finance department operates efficiently and meets the strategic needs of the business.
Is this for you?
To be successful in this role, you will have a strong educational background and extensive experience in financial leadership. You will hold a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field, along with advanced qualifications, including a Master’s degree in Business Administration or a recognized professional certification such as CPA. This solid academic foundation will equip you with the skills needed to navigate the complexities of financial management in the construction material distribution industry.
With at least 10 years of progressive financial leadership experience, including a minimum of 5 years in a senior executive role, you will have a proven track record in leading financial strategy and optimizing operations in capital-intensive, project-driven environments. Your industry experience in construction material distribution or related sectors will be highly valuable, allowing you to effectively assess the financial feasibility of new projects and investments while driving business growth that aligns with the company’s long-term objectives.
Beyond your technical expertise, you will showcase strong leadership abilities, having successfully managed teams and a commitment to humility and teamwork, having successfully managed diverse teams. Your entrepreneurial spirit will drive innovative solutions, while your ability to communicate and collaborate with diverse stakeholders will also be essential. Ideally, you will be bilingual in both official languages, enhancing your capacity to engage with clients and partners, ensuring that their needs are always at the forefront of decision-making.
