Qualifications

• Mindestens 10 Jahre Erfahrung in der Baukalkulation, insbesondere im ICI-Sektor.
• Kenntnisse in CCDC-Standards und Sicherheitsvorschriften.

Position Overview

As a top Canadian construction firm experiencing consistent growth, Buttcon seeks a skilled, caring, safety-focused Chief Estimator. Reporting to the Director of Pre-Construction and Estimating, you will lead the Estimating Team, ensuring accurate cost estimates, profitability, and supporting business development. Strong analytical, communication skills, and construction industry knowledge are essential.

Responsibilities

1. Cost Estimation: Lead detailed estimates, analyze project documents, use historical data, and confirm site visits.
2. Leadership: Supervise and mentor the estimating team, conduct evaluations, foster collaboration.
3. Bid Management: Oversee bid preparation, collaborate with teams, assess risks, and ensure timely submissions.
4. Cost Control & Value Engineering: Review cost projections, identify savings, and maintain quality and safety.
5. Vendor & Subcontractor Relations: Build relationships for competitive pricing and timely delivery.
6. Market & Risk Analysis: Keep abreast of industry trends, evaluate competitors, conduct risk assessments, and implement strategies.
7. Additional Tasks: Manage plans, specifications, sub-trade requests, and perform take-offs with understanding of relevant scopes and reports. Attend site visits, interact with owners/consultants.

Qualifications

• Engineering or Construction Management degree, diploma, or equivalent experience
• Knowledge of CCDC standards
• Minimum 10 years in construction estimating, especially in ICI sector
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Project, and design-build tools
• Construction industry knowledge, safety standards
• Certifications like Gold Seal or LEED are assets
• Experience with Procore, BIM is a plus

Work Environment

• Mainly at Head Office; support for Buttcon East as needed
