Job summary

Natural Resources Canada’s CanmetENERGY-Ottawa invites applications for a Chemical Laboratory Technologist in the Industrial Decarbonization team. You will prepare and conduct laboratory tests, operate and calibrate equipment, collect data and maintain records following established procedures.

This one-year determinate position supports projects in carbon capture and hydrogen technologies. The role requires a secondary school diploma with relevant post-secondary specialization and experience

Qualifications

• Experience carrying out standard test methods, data collection/compilation, processing and verification according to procedures.
• Experience calibrating, operating, and maintaining laboratory testing equipment.
• Experience maintaining technical logs, files, databases and inventories.

Responsibilities

• Support applied research within the Industrial Decarbonization team at CanmetENERGY-Ottawa.
• Prepare and conduct laboratory tests, operate and maintain equipment.
• Collect, organize and report experimental data; maintain lab records and inventories.
