Your responsibilities

As a manager, you will oversee various activities related to public works and road maintenance, ensuring public health, safety, and hygiene. You will coordinate actions related to cleanliness, waste management, snow removal, and contract management. You will also coordinate maintenance activities for water and sewer networks, street repairs, pothole patching, and minor road resurfacing. Additionally, you will assist the division head on various matters. Specifically, you will:

• Exercise inclusive and caring leadership, promoting participation, engagement, and team mobilization. Coordinate work, participate in performance evaluations, and recommend appropriate interventions.
• Establish and communicate directives and guidelines regarding work to foremen and the entire team.
• Coordinate and control operations of the road division, including snow removal, de-icing, sidewalk and curb maintenance, street repairs, and cleanliness activities.
• Supervise health and safety activities within your section, plan actions, and develop a culture of prevention.
• Draft technical clauses for certain contracts, analyze bids, recommend contract awards, and monitor compliance.
• Collaborate with other teams in establishing policies, standards, methods, and work procedures, as well as control mechanisms, cost analysis, and management tools.

Desired profile

• Diploma of college studies (DEC) in a related field. AEC or DEP certificates combined with relevant experience will also be considered.
• 4 years of relevant experience in public works.
• 2 years of experience in team management or coordination.
• Class 5 driver’s license.
• Construction ASP card.
