Peak Cellars Garden Bistro Culinary Team Recruitment

Peak Cellars is looking for a Chef de Partie to join our incredible team of food lovers. Located in Lake Country, BC, Peak Cellars has a ½ acre garden with two greenhouses and berry bushes that our Garden Bistro uses to prepare dishes with the freshest ingredients. If you have previous restaurant experience, and want to develop a career in the wine industry, then we want to hear from you!

Position: Chef de Partie

Description: Reporting to the Executive Chef and Sous Chef, the Chef de Partie runs a tidy and organized station, executing the menu to our high standards, prepping MEP for following shifts, and assisting the culinary team with on & offsite functions. We change our menu frequently according to the seasonality of our produce available from our culinary garden & greenhouse.

Responsibilities:

  1. Execute the menu to our high standards
  2. Prep MEP for next shifts
  3. Assist with harvesting, receiving, and preparing only the freshest quality ingredients, to ensure we offer our guests our best product possible.
  4. Work as a team to develop, maintain and follow best practices for food storage and use, ensuring the high standards of quality expected by the Chef
  5. Learn and practice our food preparation and dish presentations.
  6. Assist with the preparation and execution of group functions on and off site.
  7. Help maintain the high standards of cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen areas.
  8. Assist in the continuous effort to ensure smooth and efficient work and service flows.
  9. Promote team spirit between staff in different departments enhancing our positive work culture.
  10. As a team player, assist teammates when required, such as with dish washing, banquet preparation, and other kitchen-related duties.
  11. Perform any other reasonable request as assigned by Chef or Sous Chef.
  12. Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse environment.
  13. Ability to withstand extended periods of standing, and other physically demanding conditions.
  14. Ability to operate in a high-pressure environment and remain calm and focused in urgent situations.
  15. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays, as well as overtime from time to time.
