Cardinal Meats Job Opening: Channel Manager – Retail

Cardinal Meats is seeking candidates to fill an immediate opening within our marketing team for the role of Channel Manager – Retail. In this role, the Channel Manager will report to Cardinal’s Director of Marketing.

We’re looking for a self-motivated individual with an intermediate background in retail product development and/or brand management.

Responsibilities:
  1. Develop relevant strategic retail segment goals with sales teams.
  2. Provide market intelligence and industry data to support new product development.
  3. Create research and rationale for retail product offerings within current capabilities.
  4. Develop launch support programs and ongoing marketing/promotional plans for new products.
  5. Track and review category performance, providing recommendations for the grocery retail channel.
  6. Assess strategy (branded, private label, white label, etc.) for new retail product offerings.
  7. Supply sales teams with market trends and competitive reviews.
  8. Design retail packaging programs, including graphic design, layout, and structural recommendations.
  9. Manage retail category, including SKU optimization.
  10. Monitor marketing budgets and evaluate spend effectiveness.
  11. Manage external marketing teams and agency partners for retail projects.
  12. Support marketing services such as packaging mock-ups, sell sheets, and presentation materials.
Ideal Candidate:
  • 5-8 years of retail marketing and category management experience, preferably in the food industry.
  • Proven ability to identify market opportunities and develop product lines.
  • Experience in developing promotional support plans for brands.
  • Ability to analyze market data to guide organization in new retail categories.
  • Capable of leading projects to completion with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Proactive, self-starter with strong logical skills and team collaboration abilities.
