Job summary

Wright Tree Service of Canada is seeking an experienced Tree Trimmer to protect power infrastructure. You will trim, prune, and remove trees and branches that threaten lines in urban and rural settings, using chainsaws, lifts and other equipment.

This role emphasizes safety, environmental care, and teamwork, with strong attention to hazards and compliance with regulations. Requires Alberta certification and a valid driver's license; travel occasional.

Qualifications

• Current UA/ UTT/ CUA Certification and the ability to maintain it.
• Alberta Class 5 driver's license with less than 6 demerit points.
• Applicant must pass pre-employment drug and alcohol screening.

Responsibilities

• Trim, prune, and remove trees and branches near power lines.
• Maintain a safe distance between vegetation and utility equipment.
• Conduct regular inspections around power lines for hazards.
• Operate tools such as chainsaws, pole saws, aerial lifts, chipper trucks, stump grinders, and cranes.
• Maintain records of tree maintenance and document damage or work performed.
• Coordinate with line workers to ensure vegetation is cleared before work begins.
