Job summary

Wright Tree Service of Canada seeks a Utility Arborist (CUA) to perform vegetation management for utility infrastructure in the Vancouver area. You will work in a detail‑oriented team environment, using industry tools and equipment, with emphasis on safety and regulatory compliance.

Compensation is hourly and based on experience and certifications, with comprehensive benefits and a strong mentorship culture.

Qualifications

• Certified Utility Arborist (CUA).
• Valid Class 5 driver's license with air endorsement or willingness to obtain.
• Pre-employment drug screening required.
• First Aid with CPR or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Trim, prune, and remove trees or branches threatening utility infrastructure.
• Safely remove trees using industry practices to avoid damage.
• Operate chainsaws, pole saws, aerial lifts, chipper trucks, and cranes.
• Train and supervise crew in safe practices around high-voltage equipment.
• Maintain records of vegetation management activities.

The Position: Utility Arborist (CUA)

Type: Full‑time

Reports To: General Foreperson

Key Responsibilities:

• Trim, prune, and remove trees or branches that pose a risk to utility infrastructure
• Use industry‑standard techniques to safely remove trees without causing damage
• Operate equipment such as chainsaws, pole saws, aerial lifts, chipper trucks, and cranes
• Train and supervise crew members in safe practices around high‑voltage equipment
• Maintain accurate records of vegetation management activities
• Document completed work for utility or regulatory compliance
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and protect nearby habitats
• Perform other duties as required

Experience and Knowledge Expectations:

• Certified Utility Arborist (CUA).
• Valid Class 5 drivers’ license, with air endorsement or willingness to obtain.
• Applicants must pass pre‑employment drug screening.
• Current First Aid with CPR or willingness to obtain.
• Ability to withstand exposure to all kinds of weather and environmental conditions.
