Old Dutch Foods Ltd in Winnipeg, Manitoba, is seeking a Journeyman Millwright to join our maintenance team. The role involves troubleshooting, installing and maintaining packaging and processing equipment, conveyors, and PLC-controlled systems in a high-speed manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid Interprovincial Read Seal Certification for Millwright
• Journeyman Millwright with at least 5 years’ experience, preferably in the manufacturing industry or high-speed packaging environment.
• Hands-on experience and strong knowledge of conveyors, motors, pumps, hydraulics, and pneumatics repair, mechanical, electrical, electronics, PLC maintenance, installations, repair & overhaul of processing, packaging, material handling, and system equipment and facility.
• Experience with welding, machining, fitting, rigging, machinery alignment & leveling, reading blueprint and schematics, carpentry, plumbing, parts fabrication, presses and assembling of machinery.
• Familiarity with one or more of the following equipment: vertical form fill and seal packaging machine, fryer, metal detector, vibratory conveyor, and centrifuge.
• Aptitude for troubleshooting electrical, electronic, analytical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
• Knowledge of iMaint Program or other preventative maintenance software is an asset.
• Proficient in the use of hand tools and power tools.
• Must have demonstrated history of safe work habits
• Ability to pay attention to detail

• Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions
• Ability to work alone and as part of a team

• Must be able to work effectively with minimal supervision and understand the necessity of compliance with company policies, health and safety legislation, good manufacturing practices (GMP), food safety, and environmental standards at all times.
• Must have own tools, toolbox and safety shoes
• Ability to work weekend shift, and willingness to work overtime & rotating shift as required.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshooting, repair, overhaul, assembly, inspection, and maintenance of Packaging and Processing Equipment such as fryer, packaging machine, conveyor system, material handling equipment and other PLC controlled equipment as required.
• Install equipment and assist with capital projects as required.
• Carry out requirements of Preventative Maintenance program using iMaint Software
• Perform regular inspection to prevent breakdowns and major equipment overhauls.
• Set up and operate all hand tools, power tools and related machinery.
• Maintain a clean, orderly, safe work area
• Relieving and/or assisting other employees within maintenance and production as required
• Ensure all work is completed complies with applicable industry standards
• Detect developing mechanical issues and conduct preventative maintenance to reduce downtime
• Perform additional duties as required by supervisor
• SHIFTS OTHER THAN FIRST SHIFT MAY BE REQUIRED DEPENDING ON NEEDS

Job description

Shift Assignment: 2 nd Shift, with flexibility to work other shifts, overtime, weekends, and on-call as required.
