Job summary

AdventHealth Riverview in Florida is seeking an OB Technician to support the surgical team during the night shift. You will assist with delegated patient care tasks under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, greet and direct patients, and ensure supplies and equipment are ready and stocked.

Applicants must have Basic Life Support and a State CST certification (or NBSTSA CST or TS-C/NCCT). You will also participate in training, quality and safety activities, and adapt to new technology as

Responsibilities

• Assist with delegated patient care tasks under RN supervision.
• Provide patient-centered care and collaborate with team to achieve daily goals.
• Provide supplies/equipment upon request for providers/nurses/anesthesia.
• Respond to patient call lights and communicate needs to staff.
• Document vital signs, input/output, and care performed.
• Greet and schedule patients and manage intake information.
• Ensure work area, equipment, and supplies are clean and stocked.
• Assist with quality improvement, safety and regulatory tasks.
• Train OB Techs, volunteers, students, and staff.
• Adapt to technology and equipment used in patient care.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Description

• Assists with safe and appropriate delegated patient care tasks under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse and provider.

• Provides person-centered care with sensitivity and respect, collaborating with team members to achieve daily patient and family goals.

• Provides supplies or equipment upon request for the provider, nurses, and/or anesthesia provider.

• Responds to patient's call lights promptly and notifies appropriate personnel of patient's needs.

• Gives accurate report to oncoming shift, may perform documentation including vital signs, input/output, nutritional intake, and other patient care performed.

• Greets, directs, informs, and schedules patients via phone or in person; ensures completion and communication of all patient intake information.

• Ensures that work environment, equipment/supplies are clean, functioning properly, and orderly throughout the workday.

• Responsible for acquiring, maintaining, and stocking supplies and equipment.

• Assists with quality improvement, safety, and regulatory functions as directed, participating in process changes to improve practice.

• Assists in training other OB Techs, volunteers, students, and other hospital personnel.

• Adapts to rapidly changing technology as evidenced by competency in technology and equipment used in the patient care setting.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Basic skills and related to aseptic/ sterile technique and knowledge of surgical instrumentation [Required]

Licenses and Certifications

• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]

• State Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) [Required] OR NBSTSA Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) [Required] OR Technician in Surgery TS-C (NCCT) [Required]

Pay Range
