Job summary

Alberta Health Services in Grande Prairie is seeking a Surgical Processor to decontaminate, reassemble and sterilize hospital supplies and instrumentation. You will apply aseptic technique and quality assurance testing to ensure equipment is safe for patient care.

This casual/relief role in the Medical Device Reprocessing Department operates with shifts including days, evenings and weekends. Minimum hourly pay is $25.70 and maximum $29.28, with postings closing 23-SEP-2026 and a start date

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Medical Device Reprocessing (MDR) program.
• HSPA certification or CSA certification required.
• Criminal record check and Vulnerable Sector Search as part of onboarding.

Responsibilities

• Decontaminate, reassemble and sterilize medical devices.
• Perform quality assurance testing and report issues to supervisor.
• Ensure equipment is in proper working order and available for use.

Description:

As a Surgical Processor, you will be responsible for the decontamination, reassembly and sterilization of hospital supplies, equipment and surgical instrumentation. You will use the principles of aseptic technique and follow Universal Precautions in the prevention of Hospital Acquired Infections (HAI). You will ensure instrumentation and equipment is in proper working order, perform biological, chemical and quality assurance testing and report problems to the supervisor or designate.
