Job summary

Legacy Personnel Solutions in Windsor, Canada is seeking a Forklift Driver with work experience and a valid certification. This role may include duties beyond forklift operation on the production line or general labour.

Wage is $21.00 per hour, Monday to Friday with days and afternoons, Saturdays when required. Must be open to additional duties and shift work as needed.

Qualifications

• 3 years of forklift driving experience in a busy warehouse or manufacturing setting.
• Valid forklift certification; proof required.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds and perform overhead reaching, bending, crouching, kneeling, pushing and pulling.
• Able to work shifts, including mandatory Saturdays when required.
• English reading, writing and speaking proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklift to move, locate, relocate, stack and count merchandise.
• Ensure safe and efficient operation; perform pre/post shift inspections.
• Receive and unload inbound shipments; move product to storage.
• Stack and store products in proper locations; ensure accuracy of shipments.
• Pull and prepare product for shipment; assist in picking and loading.
• Move products to storage or production line; operate clamp truck or other equipment as needed.
• Maintain records; assist in physical inventories when required.
• Perform duties as assigned.

Required skills, knowledge and abilities;

• 3 years of working experience driving a forklift in a busy warehouse or manufacturing environment
• Valid Forklift certification – will require proof
• Must be able to overhead reach, bend, crouch, push, pull, kneel, and lift up to 50 pounds
• Able to work shift work and mandatory weekends when required
• Proficient at writing, speaking, reading and comprehending English

Responsibilities;

• Operate forklift to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise
• Accountable for the safe and efficient operation of the vehicle, which includes pre and post shift inspection of vehicle and reporting of any maintenance requirements or issues with the equipment
• Receive and unload inbound shipments, safely move product to storage locations
• Efficiently stack and store products in appropriate areas
• Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage. Report quality variances
• Pull and prepare product for shipment, ensuring that the exact number and type of product is loaded and shipped
• Perform picking duties in an efficient manner that meets customer service standards.
• Efficiently move product to storage and/or to the production line
• Load, unload, move, stack, and stage product and materials using a forklift, clamp truck, or other power equipment
• Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner following prescribed work methods
• Work with team members to ensure appropriate records and reports are completed to guarantee tight inventory control and security. Assist in physical inventories when required
• Other duties as assigned
