Job summary

Legacy Personnel Solutions in Windsor, Ontario, is seeking an experienced Forklift Driver for a busy warehouse environment. The role requires a valid forklift certification and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

You may be asked to assist on the production line or perform general labour tasks as needed. The position involves operating a forklift, handling inbound/outbound shipments, and maintaining accurate inventory records.

Qualifications

• 3 years forklift driving in a busy warehouse/manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklift to move, locate, relocate, stack and count merchandise.
• Perform pre- and post-shift inspections and report maintenance needs.
• Receive and unload inbound shipments and move product to storage locations.
• Stack and store products in appropriate areas and ensure accuracy of inbound/outbound shipments.
• Pull and prepare product for shipment and ensure correct quantity and type is loaded.
• Conduct picking duties efficiently to meet customer service standards.
• Move product to storage or production line and load/unload using forklift or related equipment.
• Operate equipment safely following prescribed methods and assist with inventory records.
• Support team with inventory control and participate in physical inventories when required.
• Other duties as assigned.

Wage & Shifts:

• $21.00/hr.
• Monday to Friday
• Must be open to days and afternoons
• Mandatory Saturdays when needed

Required skills, knowledge and abilities;

• 3 years of working experience driving a forklift in a busy warehouse or manufacturing environment
• Valid Forklift certification - will require proof
• Must be able to overhead reach, bend, crouch, push, pull, kneel, and lift up to 50 pounds
• Able to work shift work and mandatory weekends when required
• Proficient at writing, speaking, reading and comprehending English

Responsibilities;

• Operate forklift to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise
• Accountable for the safe and efficient operation of the vehicle, which includes pre and post shift inspection of vehicle and reporting of any maintenance requirements or issues with the equipment
• Receive and unload inbound shipments, safely move product to storage locations
• Efficiently stack and store products in appropriate areas
• Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage. Report quality variances
• Pull and prepare product for shipment, ensuring that the exact number and type of product is loaded and shipped
• Perform picking duties in an efficient manner that meets customer service standards.
• Efficiently move product to storage and/or to the production line
• Load, unload, move, stack, and stage product and materials using a forklift, clamp truck, or other power equipment
• Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner following prescribed work methods
• Work with team members to ensure appropriate records and reports are completed to guarantee tight inventory control and security. Assist in physical inventories when required
• Other duties as assigned
