Job summary

British Columbia Public School Employers' Association | Make a Future - Careers in BC Education is seeking a Certified Education Assistant for Margaret Ma Murray Elementary School. The role supports teachers in delivering programs and assisting students with diverse needs, including ASD and complex behavioural requirements.

Work hours are 5.25 hours per day, five days a week, with a starting salary of $26.24-$31.43 per hour based on certification.

Qualifications

• Must be willing to maintain current CPI status.
• Education Assistant Certificate with training in ASD, FASD and complex behavioural needs.
• WHMIS and online safety training completed within probationary period.

Responsibilities

• Provide instructional support to implement educational programs as directed by teachers.
• Construct/locate instructional materials and learning centres.
• Supervise students and monitor academic and behavioural data.
• Attend team/parent/professional development meetings as required.
• Support intensive behaviour interventions as needed.
• Work collaboratively as part of a team.
