Job description

Join our outstanding Sales Team in Ontario, CA! We are currently looking for a Bilingual Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist who will provide excellent patient and customer experiences to grow our diabetes program.

A Day In The Life

As a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist, you will manage clinical cases independently and educate patients on lifestyle changes related to diabetes, including nutrition, medication, physical activity, and glucose testing. You will develop professional relationships with customers, referral sources, and vendors, collaborating with physicians and referral sources to address diabetic needs in patients with pre-diabetes, Type 1, and Type 2 diabetes. Your goal will be to grow diabetes-related accounts, lead the diabetes program, and contribute to curriculum development.

Accountabilities

• Utilize your clinical nutrition expertise as part of the patient’s care team to maximize revenue in key accounts.
• Collaborate with Shield Sales Representatives to increase diabetic sales in your territory.
• Provide recommendations, develop, test, and implement nutrition education tools for field use.
• Partner with Sales and Marketing teams to expand the diabetes business.
• Engage in outreach efforts to raise community awareness of our diabetes products.
• Participate in community events and health fairs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

REQUIRED

• Current Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist certification.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish.
• At least 1 year of experience as a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to promote services and products confidently.
• Assertiveness, calmness under pressure, and courteous responses.
• Willingness and ability to travel.

Preferred

• Registered Dietitian licensure.
• Previous case management experience.
• Two years of pediatric experience.
• Master’s Degree in Nursing, Nutrition, or related healthcare field.
• Training and management experience with CGM sensors and pumps.
